Design & Process

Our aim is to create beautiful lighting for you. This takes time, skill, careful consideration and a fully hands-on, one-to-one approach.

Initial Consultation

  • We start the process with an introductory call so that Clare can learn about your project and the level of advice and design involvement you are looking for. If you decide to proceed, we agree on a date for a site visit.
  • Clare visits you for a personal consultation to discuss your ideas and requirements in detail, and we try out a few test lighting sessions to explore and illustrate what could be achieved. It’s at this stage the magic starts to happen – where you see your space in a new light (literally) and how it could look and feel.
  • Charged at £150 + mileage allowance.

Specification & Project Management

  • We arrange a site visit for the electrician so they can check that the ideas on the plan can be achieved and put a quote together for the installation work.
  • Clare specifies and order the lights on your behalf (this is the complex bit given the need to understand lumens, drivers, beam widths, bezels, baffles, bulbs and other criteria necessary to achieve the best effects).
  • The installation process begins and Clare works with the team until the job is complete.

Design & Planning

  • Following the site visit Clare draws up an initial design document detailing schemes and styles for you to consider, with outline costs for light fittings. Plans evolve as ideas form and we consider options until you are happy to approve the final lighting plan.

Pricing

  • The vagaries of the construction industry make it difficult to know how much work will be involved on any project and how long it will take. Every project is a process involving many changes and the fee structure is designed to accommodate this, starting from £500 upwards.
